I really liked the old Goddart movie Alphaville. It's an old movie with possibly zero special effects, but somehow it still works as a science fiction movie. I don't totally understand everything that happens, and still I find it a very interesting movie. I think the movie is about futility and a conditioned society. To an extent it's about how everyone in big cities is too busy to themselves with friends and families and special occasions. They work, sleep and eat and never socialize, reform, debate, philosophize. If you like it's a city in a dream-state. Imagine a world where everyone to one degree or another knows that Earth's temperature is heating up, that many species are becoming extinct. And while all of this is happening big business and government could try to prevent this from happening, but don't. A world where of stagnation, where evolution is considered evil and unprofitable, the status quo must be met and unquestioned. A perfect non-violent and obedient society.

Hmm, I could try to make this sound more intelligent, but I just can't be bothered...Too hot in here. Anyway, I'm going to try to write this story from a different perspective than the detective who stars in the movie. I'm also going to try to write this in Japanese. I'm curious if writing horror stories in the first person is a good way to learn a different language. Letting your character learn things at the same time as your audience might be a good way of creating suspense...While I try to find out the words and grammar I need to continue the story. Well, here goes nothing!

Okay, in English,"What's that? Where am I? My name is...What's my name? My head hurts. How long have I slept? Is this a big building? Is someone here?" As a first person narrative the main character will start by questioning everything, then try to find facts, constants, and explore...As my vocab gets stronger so will the scenery and story unfold.
